The Sheremetevs ' House
Detailed description
In the house, which was built in the Empire style, only white and yellow colors were used. The house was built in two stages. After the fire in 1812, when the owner of the site, Count Nikolai Alexandrovich Sheremetev, built a small two-story house with an outbuilding on the site because of the fire. In 1830, a large right-hand side with a main entrance was added to it. The house has a classic facade with remnants of Empire decoration. The second floor was decorated with horizontal rustication, typical of pre-fire Moscow. The windows on the second and third floors have stone walls. The central facade of the house is decorated with three arched windows, which makes it look like the neighboring palace of Prince Gagarin. The pediment is decorated with an ornamental stucco frieze with lion masks. There was once a passage arch in the central rizal.
