Detailed description

The Leningrad Planetarium is located on the territory of the former People's House, in a building that used to have a hall for various events called the "Iron Hall". This building was built between 1898 and 1900 by order of Prince A. P. Oldenburg, and expanded in 1910-1912. Currently, the Music Hall is located in this building. The Leningrad Planetarium was opened on November 4, 1959 and became the third in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, after Moscow and Volgograd. The St. Petersburg Planetarium is not only entertainment for connoisseurs of science, but also an opportunity to expand their knowledge about the world around us and immerse themselves in the atmosphere of astronomy and space.
