Rome-the mountain
Detailed description
Mount Rome is a remnant of a flat-topped Table Mountain made up of sedimentary rocks. These rocks easily erode, forming the shape of a mountain. During the Roman Empire, the mountain served as a natural defensive fortification, which in the local language translates as "castle of the Romans." The sheer walls of the mountain were an insurmountable obstacle for the enemy.
To this day, the remains of engineering structures, tombs and defensive fortifications have been preserved on the mountain.
