Cultural heritage site House of Industry
Detailed description
The original idea for the construction of this building was to erect a seven–story giant, an unprecedented height for those times. Considering the Ural region, which was growing in the twenties of the last century, it was planned to place trusts of the national economy of the Urals and Siberia in the House of Industry and Trade. However, these plans were not destined to come true for various reasons. The construction that began in 1931 was interrupted first by the division of the Ural region into several regions, then of the five floors built, the upper ones burned down. Then the war started.
As a result, the building was completed after the war. Over the years, it housed various structures.
Now this giant is one of the largest in the world in the style of constructivism. It has the status of a monument of federal significance and is under state protection. Due to its size and enclosed courtyard, it is informally called the Pentagon
