E.G. Follenweider Mansion
Detailed description
The building is an architectural monument located on Kamenny Island in St. Petersburg. This is a two-storey mansion, which was designed in the Northern Art Nouveau style. The construction of the mansion took place between 1904 and 1905. The customer and initiator was E. G. Follenweider, a Swiss citizen and head of a tailor workshop. Follenweider's house is stylized in the neo-Romantic direction of northern Art Nouveau, with characteristic massive shapes: curved parapet towers, contrasting plinths and roofs of red tiles. A grand avenue marked by granite gate posts leads to the western facade from the main entrance.
