Marble Palace
Detailed description
The architectural monument of early classicism was built by the Italian architect Antonio Rinaldi by order of Empress Catherine II in 1768. Marble of various grades was used as a material for wall cladding and interior decoration. Visitors can see the building's original interiors, chandeliers and sculptures. For example, the works of the famous 18th century sculptor Fedot Shubin.
Since the 92nd year of the twentieth century, it has been a branch of the State Russian Museum.
