Museum of the Russian Icon
Detailed description
It was created in May 2006 at the expense of a Moscow philanthropist. The museum has 5,000 exhibits on four floors dedicated to Russian icon painting from the 14th to the 20th centuries. The museum features ancient manuscripts and icons with an architectural background. The collection also includes a collection of Greek and Byzantine iconography and applied art.
