The remains of the backfilled part of the Admiralty Canal
Detailed description
The canal was built in 1717, connecting the Admiralty Canal with the New Holland waterway system, and served a transportation function. In 1844, the canal was blocked by a stone pipe, and a boulevard was built in its place. During construction, the pipes were dismantled, but the arches were preserved and incorporated into the architectural composition of the ferry.
