St. Nicholas Cathedral

St. Nicholas Cathedral is one of the main attractions of the city of Kislovodsk. The cathedral was founded in 1883-1888 in the style of Russian neoclassicism on the site of a wooden church. The cathedral is dedicated to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, the patron saint of travelers and sailors. In the center of the cathedral there is a wooden iconostasis, which depicts saints and biblical subjects. Prayer candles and gifts left by the faithful can also be seen here. St. Nicholas Cathedral is part of the Bely Kvartal complex, a tourist area of the city of Kislovodsk, which houses other attractions, parks, museums and hotels. Today, the cathedral is an active center of Orthodox worship.
