The Tambievs ' House
Detailed description
The house is located opposite St. Nicholas Cathedral. It was built in the early 20th century and is a three-story brick structure. The building is decorated with six balconies and the eastern facade. The building has a high basement and an arched passage to the courtyard. The house belonged to the Tambiev family and was intended for renting apartments to visiting guests and wealthy guests. During the First World War, the building housed the infirmary of the All-Russian Union of Cities. The future Countess Irene du Luard, a national heroine of France, worked as a nurse here. Later, the house was given over to a girls' school. At the moment, the VIP rooms of the boarding house are located in the house.
