Detailed description

The house is located on the territory of Elagin Island. It was built in the early 19th century and is a rectangular three-storey building with a stone basement and wooden upper floors. It belonged to the island's gardener, Peter Buk. He created greenhouses, flower beds, a vegetable garden, an orchard and plantations of summer plants that decorate the Elagin Palace. In addition, Buk was fond of cultivating plants in the Arboreal School and was considered the best master of his craft. In Soviet times, the building was occupied by various services and a canteen. Currently, various exhibitions and expositions are being organized here.
