Russian Loan Treasury
Detailed description
The Russian Loan Treasury is located on Nastasinsky Lane in Moscow. Before the revolution, money was lent here on the security of jewelry. Later, under Soviet rule, this building housed a state storage facility where goods from nationalized noble estates were transported. Even later, part of the building was used as the "golden" vault of the National Bank.
The treasury was built over three years and was opened in 1916. The main building was a two-story neo-Russian structure facing the roadway. The second building, with a safe for storing valuables, was located in the courtyard.
