Museum of the Petersburg Avant-Garde
Detailed description
The house, which now houses the museum of the St. Petersburg avant-garde, was originally built for the merchant Balashov. In 1904, the building was already in the possession of the journalist V. O. Mikhnevich. At the same time, he donated his house to a literary foundation. In the 77th year of the last century, the building was given to the State Museum of the History of Leningrad. However, the museum was not organized there. It was from this time that the desolation of the house began. At the end of the 20th century, the house completely burned down. It was later rebuilt. And in 2006, the house opened its doors to visitors. It received the status of a Museum of the St. Petersburg avant-garde. The seemingly fragile wooden house survived the war years and is well preserved.
