Kamennoostrovsky Palace
Detailed description
Kamennoostrovsky Palace is an outstanding architectural monument of federal significance with unique architecture. The palace previously belonged to Empress Catherine II, who gave it to her son in the future. Construction of the building began in 1776. The building is considered an exemplary example of classicism. In the plan, the palace represents an enlarged letter P. Wings were built at right angles. The front side of the palace is decorated with a portico with a front and six columns. A multi-stage staircase made of Finnish granite leads to the entrance. In 1811, the third floor appeared, the garden was redeveloped.
