Church of Cyril and Methodius
Detailed description
The exterior of the house church, located next to the dormitory for low-income students of Nizhny Novgorod gymnasiums, attracts attention due to the dome on an octagonal light drum in the style of Byzantine art. This building was built in 1876-1877 for the Brotherhood of Saints Cyril and Methodius with the support of M. M. Rukavishnikov, designed by architect N. B. Feldt. The church was rebuilt in 1888, and consecration was held in 1897. However, it was closed shortly after 1917. Currently, the building is occupied by the Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology.
