Museo di Roma
Detailed description
The Roman Museum, located in the 18th—century neoclassical Palazzo Braschi, the former headquarters of the National Fascist Party, has received critical acclaim for its exclusive collection. The museum houses about 40,000 works of art, all depicting the history of Rome from the Middle Ages to the 20th century. After the Second World War, 300 families were evacuated to this place, and many of the frescoes were damaged by the fire that was lit to warm them.
