Artisan yard of the Court Stable Department
Detailed description
The Craftsman's Yard is the oldest building in the complex of the court stable department. The original two-storey building with a courtyard was built in the 1750s and 1760s. In the 1800s, the courtyard underwent its first reconstruction, designed by architect L. Ruska. The artisan courtyard took on the shape of a square, arched windows and pilasters were placed on the facades from the courtyard. In 1822, according to the plan of architect S.L. Shustov, the Office room on the second floor was decorated. The central place here is occupied by polychrome painting of the lampshade in the Empire style. In the 1840s, architect A.K. Bourgeois built a third floor, and in 1933-1934, two more floors were added for the administration of the car park. A meeting room with large windows was set up on the courtyard side. For a long time, the craftsman yard was classified as taxi transport No. 1. Now there is a business center here, and restaurants on the ground floor.
