Putyat 's dacha
Detailed description
Julian Matveyevich Verzhensky moved here from Grozny and bought a plot on novaya Rossiyskaya Street (now Zhelyabova). The following year, presumably by architect E.B.Khodzhaev, a mansion was built. The tower with lancet windows and a circular balcony gives it an external resemblance to a lighthouse. At the base, the building has an L-shaped shape. After Verzhensky's death, his wife inherited the house and sold it to a noblewoman of Polish origin, Valentina Putyata. She rented it out to vacationers. In Soviet times, the building housed sanatorium No. 18 Tsustrakha. In the 1990s, it was abandoned and fell into disrepair until it was sold into private ownership. The house was originally two-storeyed with a basement. The third floor was added during the restoration. Due to the unusual shape of the windows, the house is called a "house of cards". The house is located opposite the sanatorium "Electron".
