Orthopedic Institute
Detailed description
The institute buildings were built between 1902 and 1906. A tree nursery was located here, and in 1901, by order of the Empress, land was allocated for a medical institute. The director of the institute was Vreden, the founder of orthopedic surgery. The ground floor was gray, and the facade above it was made of light brick, with a 10-meter-high stained glass window on the stairs. The facade of the institute was decorated with majolica. A church was built in the middle wing of the building, but the iconostasis, icons and dome were lost. In 2016, the dome was recreated. Now there is a branch of the Academy of Justice, which also has a church.
