The mansion of N.V. Bezobrazova
Detailed description
In 1838, Lermontov was a frequent visitor to this house. E.A. Stolypina, the widow of the poet's great-uncle D.A. Stolypin, rented an apartment in the house. Stolypin lived in a large room on the second floor. Her sister E.A. Vereshchagina (mother of Lermontov's young friend Alexandra Vereshchagina) lived with her. All of Lermontov's relatives gathered in the house. Ownership of the house has changed several times. Since 1993, the St. Petersburg State Academy of Theater Arts has been located in the house. The facade of the house was lavishly decorated: the family coat of arms can be seen on the bay window above the entrance door, and the monogram "NB" under the window. Above the entrance arch with an iron gate is the number "1902", probably the year of the beginning of the reconstruction of the house.
