The wing of the house of diligence

The wing is an architectural part of the House of Diligence and is located near the park named after 1 May. The building was built in 1896 at the expense of a merchant, the head of the City Duma, Peter Romanovich Maksimov. The house was intended to help men, women and children over the age of 10 who found themselves in a difficult social situation. Here they were provided with work after a short period of study. Later, a shelter for girls was opened at the house. Since 1915, a hospital has been located in the building. Currently, the administration of the Rostov State Medical University is located in the building of the wing.
