Detailed description
The monument is located in front of the Saranrom Royal Palace on Sanamchai Road, east of the Grand Palace. It was built in 2004 during the reign of King Rama IX. The monument was built to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the birth of King Mongkut. The standing statue of King Rama IV is 4.1 meters high and weighs about two tons.
