The construction of the real college dates back to the first half of the 19th century. The building was built at the expense of merchant I. Makke. In the middle of the 19th century, a large fire destroyed many buildings in Samara, but this building survived. At the end of the 19th century, a real school was opened here, named after Alexander the Blessed. Many of its graduates have become famous people. Nowadays, the real college is one of the main architectural attractions of Samara.
