The Stalmeister Building of the Novo-Mikhailovsky Palace
Detailed description
The palace's cavalry corps was built in 1857-1862. Architect Andrey Ivanovich Shtakenshekyder worked on the project of the building. The palace was built for Prince Mikhail Nikolaevich. The architecture of the building adheres to the eclectic style. The facade of the building is modestly and restrained. It has a unique curved composition, which indicates the influence of the Italian Baroque. Some historians describe the style of the building as "a retrospective stylization based on early Russian and French classicism."
