The first Gostiny Dvor in St. Petersburg was built in 1705 during the reign of Peter the Great on Troitskaya Square, where the mosque stands today. Consisting of hundreds of log shops, it burned down in the summer of 1710. This is a historic building of the XVIII century, which once served as the central wholesale store of Gostiny Dvor, and at the beginning of the XX century - a department store. As a building in the historical center of St. Petersburg, it is an important object of cultural heritage of the people of the Russian Federation for the federal government and is protected by UNESCO.
