City Duma
Detailed description
The City Duma has been located in the building of the Public Guild House since 1786. Later, in 1847, a separate building of the City Duma was built. The complex consists of the City Council building and the tower, which is located on the corner. The City Duma building has a pentagonal shape. The height of the tower is 47 meters, and it was built in the period from 1799 to 1804. Initially, the tower was used as an alarm warning in case of fire. There is also a clock on the tower that is more than 100 years old. The clock on the tower is considered to be the largest on Nevsky Prospekt.
