Tower of the City Duma
Detailed description
The tower belongs to a complex of buildings on the corner of Duma Street and Nevsky Prospekt. The construction of the tower began by decree of Emperor Paul I, and construction was completed after his death in 1804. A special feature of the tower is its similarity to the Tuscan campanile. The Tchaikovsky Museum is now located in the building, and an observation deck has been opened at the top. The tower itself is surrounded by an ensemble of unique architectural landmarks: Kazan Cathedral, Passage, Singer's house.
