Detailed description

The house on Galernaya Street is a monument of the cultural heritage of the city. It was built in 1717, and was later acquired by Ekaterina Zanadvorova, the wife of provincial secretary and merchant Faust Zanadvorov. The first architect of the building is unknown, but in 1858 it was rebuilt by Julius Dutel. He adhered to such an architectural style as eclecticism. It is a three-storey brick openwork building decorated with whitewashed rustication, with short flat pilasters on the top floor. The lower part of the floor protrudes, which creates the impression of heaviness and squatness, above it there is a balcony. Now it is an apartment building.
