St. John the Baptist Cathedral is one of the largest and most significant Orthodox churches in the city, which was built in honor of St. John the Baptist, the forerunner and baptist of Jesus Christ. The history of the cathedral began on September 15, 1846. The main patron of the construction was Yefim Telegin, a merchant from Yekaterinburg.
