Furor Cinema
Detailed description
It is a two-storey building with a main facade facing the red line of Sadovaya Street. The walls of the building are made of red ceramic bricks and painted in mint colors. The main facade has a symmetrical axial, 3-part composition, in which the side parts are accentuated by high figured attic walls. The pilasters framing them are decorated with plaster elements in the form of round rosettes, bas-reliefs with acanthus leaves and cords. In the center of the facade on the ground floor there are large display windows with three vertical divisions. The construction of this building was carried out in several stages. In 1845, I. Chegodaev purchased a large plot of land at auction as a garden. The construction of the house began in the late 1870s, when the owner of the plot was already a philistine G.V. Baskakov. In March 1879, he received permission to build a two-story stone house designed by architect N. Raduisky. The two-storey house, which faced the street, later became the basis of the cinema building. Above the shops was a second residential floor with seven windows along the facade. The window on the far right was located in the annex of the entrance vestibule. In the late 1890s, the estate became the property of the daughter of G.V. Baskakov. And in 1913, the new owner of the site, M.E. Antonov, rebuilt the building for the establishment of a private cinema here. In March 1922, the building was municipalized, the club of the 3rd district committee was housed in it, and in October 1928 the building was reopened as a city public cinema.
