Public meeting

The construction of the public assembly is a historical monument in the city center. It consists of two buildings: the residential building of engineer A.I.Uzatis and a concert hall-theater. Today, there is a Puppet Theater in the Uzatis house building, and the Eaglet Cinema in another building. The author of the building's design is still unknown, the house was transferred to the ownership of I.M.Rukavishnikov. After Rukavishnikov's death, S.Ya.Frolov, a large peasant landlord, became interested in the building. Frolov expanded the house with an extension made of stone. In 1912, the foundation of a new building was laid, and it was planned to build the largest concert hall there. A year later, the construction of the new building was completed.: the house became a three-storey building with a mezzanine, the interior was decorated by the artist V.Egorov. In 1979, the old house of A.I.Uzatis was reconstructed, the architect was S.A.Timofeev; the entrance from the main street was removed, a new entrance appeared from the left end, and a rectangular arch was also erected.
