The house of S.J. Niklaus
Detailed description
In 1811, the house was built by S. J.Niklaus. In 1838, the estate passed to his brother in connection with the death of Niklaus. Due to the fact that the manor was passed down among the Niklauses by inheritance, it became a family nest. The paneling of the house had an inconspicuous exterior decor and the walls were plastered. In Soviet times, there were residential apartments here. The two-storey semi-stone house is located on Minina Street in Nizhny Novgorod. The lower floor is brick, and the upper floor is wooden. The building has a memorial significance due to the fact that Alexey Ivanovich Piskunov, who was a leader of the revolutionary movement, lived here. Vladimir Ilyich Lenin also stayed here in 1900 after his Siberian exile. Now there is a thrift store inside the house.
