Mogutova Mountain
Detailed description
Mogutovaya Mountain is part of the Zhiguli Mountains. Its height reaches 265 meters above sea level. From the north, the mountain ends with a steep slope to the Volga River itself. Zhigulevsk surrounds it from other sides. The eastern slope of the mountain is called the Stone Mountain. A goat figure was installed here in the 90s of the XX century, the author of the sculpture is not known for certain. The main area of the mountain is filled with forest. It is formed by limestones and dolomites. Mogutovaya Gora got its name from the word "mighty", "strong". From the top of the mountain, there is a panoramic view of the Volga River and the Zhiguli hydroelectric power station.
