The rich well (or spring) is located between Sedova and Beregovaya streets. According to legend, Tsar Peter Alekseevich, being in these areas, observed the movement of Russian ships to the shipyard at the mouth of Temernik. When Peter saw the spring, he drank the water and exclaimed: "A rich well!", which is how the spring got its name. Before the 250th anniversary of Rostov-on-Don in 1999, the rotunda and the area around it were reconstructed, observing all the architectural features of the late 19th century.
