Meltzer Mansion
Detailed description
The mansion was built in 1904. During its construction, motifs of ancient Russian architecture and Russian national architecture were used. Also, elements of Finnish national romanticism played an important role in the appearance of the building. The house has picturesque walls, which consist of rough-hewn stone, massive logs are also present, and a highly elevated pyramidal roof. Great attention is drawn to the gable roof, which is the main part of the silhouette, pointing upwards. The lower part is made of light limestone and red brick, the upper part consists of logs. In the center of the first floor there was a fireplace room and stairs leading to the second and third floors. On the ground floor there was also an entrance hall, a kitchen, a bathroom and a living room. On the second floor there is Meltzer's study and workshop, another library, a dining room and several more rooms. In the wooden part of the house, there were rooms without plaster, which were supposed to look like a rural dwelling.
