White stone chambers of the Tversky farmstead

Since the 17th century, the building belonged to the Tver metochion, the residence of the bishop of Tver was located here. At the same time, a rectangular stone room was built on the same place. Over time, stone buildings with a trading house on the ground floor were built on the courtyard territory, along the red line of the Kuznetsky Bridge. There were residential premises and shops, and between 1810 and 1820 - the workshop of the famous sculptor Santin Campioni, who made marble and bronze sculptures. Today, most of the buildings were demolished in 1996, and offices and retail facilities were built instead. The building is under state protection and is included in the Unified Register of Objects of Cultural Heritage of Russia. In 2021, the building was under restoration. Comprehensive repairs were carried out on the roof, facade and inside the building.
