The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin in Krutitsy. Famous in the area since the beginning of the 14th century, the modern two-story brick church building with five domes was built in 1684 and is dedicated to the Apostles Peter and Paul on the lower floor and the Dormition of the Virgin on the upper floor. The building was connected by a transition wall to the chambers of the Metropolitan. In 1689, the construction of a new bell tower was completed; after the fire of 1812, the Assumption Church was rebuilt. In 1895, the chapel of St. Sergius of Radonezh was built in the upper church and a three-tiered iconostasis in the Byzantine style was installed.
