Detailed description
A large cylindrical structure, more than 34 meters in diameter and more than 21 meters in height, built in 1881. The first gas company in St. Petersburg was opened in 1835. It was a gas plant, the only one that was preserved by the St. Petersburg Gas Lighting Society.
In Soviet times, warehouses and industrial workshops were located in the building, the structure was rebuilt many times, gates and doorways were pierced in the red brick building. In 2001, the tower was included by the KGIOP in the "List of newly Identified objects of historical, scientific, artistic or other cultural value." To date, there is a multi-storey parking for 89 cars. The entire building was renovated, and the lost brickwork elements were restored. New floors have been built inside, which are supported by many columns.
