I.I. Levitan's House
Detailed description
The architectural structure is a historical building in Moscow. A talented, famous artist, Isaac Ilyich Levitan, lived and died here, as evidenced by a memorial plaque installed on the building. The workshop house is marked by a valuable object of cultural heritage of federal significance. The house now houses the workshops of graduate students from the Russian Academy of Arts. The house was rebuilt in 1889 by Peter Alexandrovich Drittenpreis at the expense of Maria Fedorovna Morozova, who owned the house at that time. Isaac Levitan inherited the house from her son, with whom Levitan was friends. It was here that the artist painted his masterpieces: "March", "Lake", "Over Eternal Peace", "Golden Autumn". Currently, the building is in poor condition and requires restoration.
