The house was built in the nineteenth century and belonged to N. M. Gvozdev and A.M. Bardina. The architectural style was defined as "modern". The building is a five-storey building. The building's plan is close to a rectangle. The building is crowned with a metal roof. The windows have the shape of a rectangle. The facade of the building itself is made of gray and pink bricks. Now the decorative elements of the exterior and interior of the house are well preserved. Nowadays, the building is used as an apartment building. Nearby is the house of the Emir of Bukhara, the building of the electric substation of the city tram, the first residential building of the Leningrad City Council, the house where Lenin lived, the Savina mansion, the Matyushin house, the furniture and carpentry factory of F. A. Meltzer, the Tower with the Princess and the Kamennoostrovsky Palace.
