Corner Arsenal Tower
Detailed description
In 1492, Italian architect Pietro Antonio Solari built a tower that blocked access to Red Square and controlled the crossing of the Neglinnaya River to the Auction. At the end of the 17th century, the tower was complemented by an octagonal tent with an openwork canopy and a weather vane, which has 16 sides and walls 4 meters thick. In 1812, the tower was damaged during the Patriotic War, but after that it was restored by architect Osip Beauvais.
