The Palace of Grand Duke Vladimir Alexandrovich was built according to the project of the rector of the Imperial Academy of Arts A. I. Rezanov. The building was built from 1867 to 1874. The facade of the palace is decorated in the neo-Renaissance style, richly decorated with brick decor. The arched windows are framed by profiled architraves. The main entrance is decorated with an arched portico. The historical coats of arms of parts of the Russian Empire and family coats of arms are located between the second and third floors. In 1920, at the request of Maxim Gorky, the House of Scientists was located in the palace. This organization is still working in the palace.
