The Winter Palace of Peter the Great is located on the Neva embankment near the Winter Groove. It is a historical architectural monument of Russia. The preserved parts are located in the building of the Hermitage Theater, which is included in the museum complex of the State Hermitage Museum. The building was built in 1716. In construction, the architect adhered to such architectural style as Baroque. On the facade there are rectangular, square and arched window openings, which are framed by Doric pilasters. There are some elements of stucco and sculpture. The sides of the facade with wide blades between the windows are decorated with panels with garlands. This is one of the most elegant buildings in the city.
