Merchant Dunaev 's farmstead
Detailed description
The building with an unusual history, which is called the house of the merchant Dunaev, was built in 1902. The manor house has been replaced by many owners, including the Austrian merchant Joseph Shvets and the mayor Sergei Permyakov. In the early 1980s, they wanted to demolish the house. There was a fierce struggle for the preservation of the monument, and the authorities unexpectedly supported the project of young architects, which was implemented efficiently, artistically and in full accordance with the context. The building is more of a manifesto, a reaction to the devaluation of the aesthetic role of architecture in the era of stagnation, Soviet modernism. Since 2010, the building has been transferred to the Registry Office of the Samara region and the archive of the Registry Office of the Samara region.
