Pushkin People 's House
Detailed description
The Pushkin Palace of Culture of Railway Workers (Pushkin People's House) is a concert hall located on Lva Tolstogo Street.
The People's House with a 600-seat theater hall was designed by architect Filaret Zasukhin. The grand opening took place in 1903. The building had two auditoriums (the larger hall could accommodate 735 people), a club room, a library and a tea room.
A few months after the construction was completed, a bust of the poet was installed on the balcony of the Pushkin House. The bust was removed during reconstruction in 1926 and finally returned to its original location in 1999 on the bicentennial anniversary of the poet's birth.
