Apartment house of D.E. Chelyshev

Samara merchants Chelyshevs built two apartment buildings according to the designs of the architect Shcherbachev AA. This building is the second in a row, the date of its construction is 1899. It was built on the site of a prison castle. The object is built of red brick in the shape of the letter "P" and is an example of architecture of the neo-Russian style. The house has three floors without a basement. The central facade faces onto Krasnoarmeyskaya Street. The facade is made with many decorative brick elements. Balconies on brick brackets are located at the level of the second and third floors. The apartment building has a corridor-enfilade layout. During the Soviet years, the house was nationalized. At first, it housed various departments. Since the 1930s – communal housing. In 1968, the building underwent its last major renovation. Nowadays, the building is still residential, but needs to be restored.
