Tenishev Mansion - M.K. Chaplits
Detailed description
The mansion was built in 1870 by architect Esterreich V. F., rebuilt in 1898 and rebuilt again 10 years later. In 1891, the house was acquired by Prince Vyacheslav Nikolaevich Tenishev. There was even an art school in the mansion for 8 years, which was led by Ilya Yefimovich Repin. On March 19, 1909, Maria Konstantinovna Chaplits became the owner of the mansion, she became the last private owner, after the revolution the building was nationalized. Then the doctor Vasily Nikolaevich Luxemburg lived in the house, then there was the Polish Embassy, then the Office of the People's Commissariat of Justice of the RSFSR, then the Office of the Metallurgical Industry. Then the Lengrazhdanproekt workshop worked here for a long time.
Today the house is privately owned, the building is in excellent condition.
