The house of V. P. Orlov-Davydov was built in 1866 in the neo-Renaissance style, architect Kolman. The building is an architectural monument, a three-storey mansion of the early nineteenth century. The count founded the Philharmonic Society here, and the composer Shostakovich worked here. Nearby are Alexander Garden and the Bronze Horseman.
