Museum of Railways of Russia

The Russian Railway Museum in St. Petersburg is one of the youngest and most technically equipped museums in Europe. The total area of the museum is 50,000 square meters, there are 4,000 storage units in the funds. The history of the museum began in 1974, when the union of Soviet railway workers decided to perpetuate the labor and military glory of the collective. The museum's exposition covers the history of transportation from Antiquity to the present, including legendary models of steam locomotives. The museum has introduced augmented reality technologies into the permanent exhibition, using animated historical platforms.
