Petrovsky Dock
Detailed description
Petrovsky Dock is the first dry dock in Russia. It was built by decree and designed by Emperor Peter the Great. The construction was carried out in 1719 to 1752. The dock can only be viewed from the outside. About three thousand people took part in the construction of the dock. Peter did not live to see the completion of the construction, and Elizabeth Petrovna was present at its opening.
